I have the honor to acknowledge
receipt of Despatch No 72 of the
4 November last, and in reply to report that there will be no difficulty
in carrying Your Lordship's instructions
by which the Chief Justice is to be allowed a vacation of five months during
the year.
Should the Chief Justice avail himself of this privilege,
and leave the Colony, or if residing in the Colony be desirous to be relieved from the duties incidental to his office for the period
specified,
I shall, by virtue of Section V.
of Ordinance No 6 of 1845, appoint
